Sports premium funding impact 2016 - 2017

The table details how the sports premium funding was spent in 2016-2017 and the impact that this had across school.

Allocation of PE & Sports Grant 2015-16

During the academic year 2015/16 we will receive funding of £8,185 towards the provision of PE & sport.

This funding provides for:

  • Membership of Wolds' Sports partnership
  • High quality external agencies for coaching
  • Transport to competitive inter-school events
  • Staffing for high quality P.E. lessons and leadership.
  • Investment in resources and provision for wider P.E. curriculum.
  • Employ a lunch time play leader to work with children at lunch and lead a 'Change for Life' club targeting getting girls active.
  • Training for non-sport specialist teachers

Impact

Wolds Sport Partnership

  • The sports partnership provided a range of competitions which led to a greater number of children participating in competitive sport.
  • Support in the form of PE consultant worked alongside the PE coordinator to create action plan.
  • YSP CPD developed Coordinator role.

Specialist Coaching

  • This led to staff gaining confidence in the delivery of games and improved their skills and knowledge.

Transport

  • This allowed more children to take part in competitions, which raised the profile of PE and sport. 

Staffing

  • Children had access to high quality teaching and learning which led to increased engagement and attainment. 

Resources and Equipment

  • New scheme of work purchased which has led to improved curriculum coverage, improved progression of skills throughout key stage one and two and ensured high quality lessons are being planned.

The impact of the P.E. and Sports Grant has been a development in pupils' attitude to participation and activity in sport, in school and out of school. This has been evident with the increased number of pupil achievements (again in and out of school) during the last 12 months.

During the academic year 2013/14 we will received funding of £5115 towards the provision of sport.

This funding provides for:

  • Membership of Wolds Sports partnership
  • High quality external agencies for coaching
  • Transport to competative inter-school events
  • Purchase of good quality equipment for best practice
  • Training for non-sport specialist teachers
